The Quiet and the Stormy Sea (2026)
for recorder, double bass, guitar and electronics
The Quiet and the Stormy Sea Trio is an ensemble piece flowing in a comforting kind of turbulence. At its core lies The Black Sea for solo recorder, originally written in braille as a life-sized hypnotic storm. The trio is composed around this music by combining selected fragments with new material, improvisation, and electronics. Like this, the continuous melodic line from the solo composition becomes a layered, exploratory ensemble composition.
