Ymnus (Anna Cibulková, Daniel Scott, Juho Myllylä) performs the programme Stars of the Night at the Brighton Early Music Festival.
Astrology was at the heart of the glittering court of Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy (1396–1467). Court astrologers advised on medicine and politics, and even designed new musical instruments. Including music by Guillaume Dufay, this programme for three recorders and other medieval instruments focuses on Henri Arnaut de Zwolle whose work captures the Burgundian fascination with linking science, healing and music. Includes some of the earliest surviving keyboard intabulations and courtly songs of love-sickness and remedy.
