The Finnish group Ensemble Gamut and Swedish-Belgian Lux Beata presents a joint concert in Brussels.

Gamut will perform pieces from their latest release “RE”, exploring late medieval music in Finland with its multiple influences from the continent as well as traditional runic songs and improvisations.

Lux Beata plays “The Imagined Court”, a program of what might have been played at the royal court in Stockholm during the 16th century. There are no actual musical sources preserved of what was played before Queen Christina, only mentions of Flemish polyphony and Italian music for lute and keyboard being performed. The program also contains traditional dance music and medieval ballads.

Each program lasts about 30 minutes with a small break in between.
